Jandy iAqualink 3 App Setup: Download, Account Creation, and Device Registration

Technical Guide • Updated March 2026
Jandy iAqualink 3 App Setup

Quick Summary

  • The iAqualink app is available free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Search for "Zodiac iAqualink."
  • Before using the app, the J-box must be physically installed, wired to the AquaLink RS power center, and connected to the home WiFi network.
  • All three LED indicators (PWR, NET, 12V) on the J-box must be solid ON before you attempt product registration.
  • Registration is done at www.iaqualink.com. You must add the device as a "Location" before it appears in the app.
  • If the app shows "Waiting for connection" after registration, the J-box is not fully online. Check LED status and WiFi connection.

Step 1: Download the iAqualink App

The iAqualink app works on iOS and Android devices. It is also accessible through a web browser at www.iaqualink.com for full-featured control from a computer.

iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch

  1. Open the App Store on your Apple device.
  2. Search for "Zodiac iAqualink" or "iAqualink."
  3. Download and install the free app.

Android devices

  1. Open Google Play on your Android device.
  2. Search for "Zodiac iAqualink."
  3. Download and install the free app.

Web browser

  1. Go to www.iaqualink.com on any computer or laptop.
  2. Log in with your account credentials to access the full web interface.
  3. The web interface provides access to all programming, customization, and system setup features that may not be available in the mobile app.

Step 2: Verify J-Box Installation

Before you can register the device, the iAqualink J-box must be properly installed and communicating. Check the following:

  1. Physical installation: The J-box should be mounted at least 6 feet above ground level, at least 8 feet from any motor or air blower, and at least 5 feet from other transceiver J-boxes.
  2. Wiring: The 4-wire cable (red, black, yellow, green) must be connected to the red 4-pin connector on the AquaLink RS power center PCB. If more than two cables are already connected to the 4-pin connector, a multiplex kit (P/N 6584) is required.
  3. WiFi or wired connection: The J-box must be connected to the home network either wirelessly (factory default) or via Ethernet cable. For wired connections, slide the switch on the J-box PCB to the WIRED position.
  4. LED status: All three LEDs must be solid ON. PWR (red) = power, NET (orange) = network connected, 12V (green) = online. It can take up to one minute to establish a connection after power-up.

Important

Do not attempt product registration until all three LED indicator lights are illuminated. Registration will fail if the J-box is not fully online.

Step 3: Register Your Device

  1. Go to www.iaqualink.com/ssid and follow the online registration instructions.
  2. Create an account if you do not already have one.
  3. Once logged in, navigate to the "Locations" tab in the iAqualink Owner's Center.
  4. Click "Add Location" and follow the prompts to register your J-box.
  5. After registration, click on your device in the Locations list. A browser window will display "Waiting for connection..." followed by the HOME screen once the link is established.

Step 4: Configure WiFi Parameters

If the J-box needs WiFi configuration (SSID and password), there are two methods:

Method 1: Using a Computer (USB)

  1. Remove the two screws from the J-box cover. Remove the gasket and cover.
  2. Make sure the J-box is NOT connected to the power center at this point.
  3. Using a USB cable, connect the J-box to a computer.
  4. Go to www.iaqualink.com/ssid and follow the online instructions to enter the WiFi SSID and password.

Method 2: Using the OneTouch Panel

  1. Make sure the J-box is connected to the power center. Allow about 10 seconds for it to find the WiFi signal.
  2. On the AquaLink controller, go to HELP > REMOTES. If the power center has found the iAqualink, it will show as "iAQUALINK."
  3. Go to SYSTEM SETUP > iAQUALINK SETUP.
  4. Enter the homeowner's SSID (network name). This is usually printed on the bottom of the router.
  5. Select the encryption type the router uses (NONE, WEP, or WPA).
  6. Enter the network password (NET KEY).
  7. Select STORE SETTINGS to save the WiFi configuration to the J-box.
  8. When all three LEDs turn ON, the J-box is connected and online.

Troubleshooting App Setup Problems

App shows "Waiting for connection" indefinitely

  1. Check the J-box LED indicators. If NET (orange) is off or flashing, the WiFi connection has not been established. See the WiFi Connection troubleshooting guide.
  2. If all LEDs are solid ON, try logging out and back into the app.
  3. Verify your device is listed under Locations at www.iaqualink.com. If not, re-register the device.

Device not found during registration

  1. Confirm the J-box is powered (PWR LED is ON).
  2. Confirm the J-box is connected to the internet (all three LEDs ON).
  3. Make sure you are registering at www.iaqualink.com/ssid, not an outdated URL.
  4. If the J-box was previously registered under a different account, it must be removed from that account first. Contact Jandy support at 1-800-822-7933 for help transferring ownership.

App connects but shows wrong equipment or no equipment

  1. The AquaLink RS power center CPU board may need a firmware update. The iAqualink requires revision R or later for AquaLink RS, or revision 6.0 or later for PDA systems.
  2. Go to HELP on the iAqualink interface and check the model and firmware revision displayed.
  3. If some buttons do not work from the app or from the power center override switches, the wrong CPU board may be installed.

Web Interface vs. Mobile App

The web browser interface at www.iaqualink.com provides access to every feature of the AquaLink RS system, including advanced programming, system setup, and diagnostics. The mobile app provides a streamlined subset of these features for day-to-day control.

If you need to perform initial system configuration, set up variable speed pump parameters, configure OneTouch scenes, or run diagnostics, use the web interface. For turning equipment on/off and checking temperatures, the mobile app is sufficient.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can multiple people use the same iAqualink account?

Yes. Share the login credentials with anyone who needs access. All users will see the same equipment status and can send commands. There is no separate user role system within the iAqualink app.

Is the iAqualink app free?

Yes. The app and web interface are free to use. There is no subscription fee. The only cost is the iAqualink hardware itself.

Can I control my pool from anywhere?

Yes, as long as your phone or computer has internet access and the J-box is connected to the home network. Commands travel from your device to the iAqualink cloud server and then to the J-box over the home internet connection.

What happens if my internet goes down?

You lose remote control through the app and web interface. However, all programmed schedules stored in the AquaLink RS power center will continue to run normally. The power center operates independently of the internet connection.
